On this episode of the Companion Podcast, we start off by examining the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists' Doomsday Clock, which is currently set at "100 seconds to midnight." We go into a little bit of a history lesson to try and explain why our perceived doomsday risk is higher today than it's ever been (even at the height of the Cold War).
From there, we jump into a discussion about how climate change is a terrible moral problem, but one which doesn't amount to an existential risk on its own right. We also discuss the ideology of climate alarmism and how the narrative has shifted in recent years to focus more on climate change as a today problem rather than a future problem.
